ZigWord Daily Challenge Guide: Quotes, Streaks, Dates

Besides the main journey, ZigWord offers a Daily Challenge: one fresh puzzle every 24 hours, with streaks for players who return every day.

A quote in a grid

Daily puzzles don’t have a theme. Instead the key words of a short quote are hidden in the grid, such as “You are stronger than you think you are.” The answers are the missing words, which you find by swiping across the tiles as usual. The 369 bundled daily puzzles contain quotes from people like Seneca, Helen Keller and Eleanor Roosevelt.

How dates map to puzzles

In version 1.5.0 the puzzle number is the day of the year: January 1 is puzzle 1 and December 31 is puzzle 365. In a leap year every day after February 28 moves one puzzle along. Our daily calendar applies this rule for you.

Welcome puzzles

Brand-new players usually see three special welcome puzzles on their first Daily Challenge days instead of the calendar puzzle. If today’s answers don’t match, try welcome day 1, day 2 or day 3.

Keeping your streak

• Play at the same time each day, for example with your morning coffee.
• Read the quote aloud: many are well known, so guessing the missing word is often quicker than searching.
• If you are stuck, open one hint on the today page rather than the full answer.
